Jobs Jobs Jobs

This morning’s job number — while not the blockbuster the markets were expecting (or, perhaps, just hoping for) — was nonetheless a step in the right direction. As more people who’ve been out of work for quite some time get the sense that hiring is coming back, more of those people will start actively looking for jobs. That may actually send the jobs number — now 9.4% — up rather than down. Still, the trend is good. Big companies, as well as the mid-sized companies that have been hiring, have announced their intention to increase their ranks. And small companies will, eventually follow. On the Today Show this morning, I spoke with the all-too-tall Willie Geist and Erin Burnett (reporting from the exchange) about what it all means.
